Joseph K. Jachinowski, Chief Executive Officer

Joe comes to Still River Systems with a distinguished 28 year track record of successfully developing products and building companies in the field of radiation therapy for cancer. He was most recently Executive Vice President of Elekta's North American operations. Prior to Elekta, he co-founded IMPAC Medical Systems and served as its President and CEO for 15 years from its inception through its acquisition by Elekta in 2005. Joe began his career at Varian Medical Systems, where he was responsible for leading the team which developed their innovative linear accelerator products in the 1980s.

 

Marc R. Buntaine, President and Chief Commercial Officer

Marc joined Still River Systems from Varian Medical Systems in 2005, where he was Director of Stereotactic Products. He previously founded Zmed, a company sold to Varian Medical in 2003. Prior to this, he served as President and CEO of Surgical Navigation Technologies, now a division of Medtronic, and before that he served as President of the USA division of Elekta. Marc joined Elekta from Bain and Company after receiving his MBA from Yale University.       

 

Kenneth Gall, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Ken received his Ph.D. in Nuclear and Particle Physics from Boston University in 1989 and has been actively involved in the radiotherapy field as a professional medical physicist and technical personnel manager since that time. He has worked extensively in the PBRT field and has held faculty positions at the Harvard Medical School and at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center where he managed the Physics and Dosimetry Division. He originated the design principles of the Monarch-250™ PBRT System and founded Still River Systems in 2004.

 

Stanley “Skip” Rosenthal, Ph.D., Vice President Clinical Systems

Skip joined Still River Systems from The Proton Therapy Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was Senior Medical Physicist. He has worked there and the Harvard Cyclotron Laboratory as a medical physicist in radiation oncology and proton therapy for sixteen years.

 

Earl Cleveland, Vice President Engineering

Earl joined Still River Systems from the IBA Proton Therapy Division where he was Chief Engineer on the Northeast Proton Therapy Center installation and then became the Proton Therapy Program Manager. Prior to working for IBA, Earl was a Project Engineer at SAIC Engineering and Consulting Company.

 

Bill Alvord, Vice President Operations                                   

Bill joined Still River Systems in March 2009 from Siemens Healthcare Molecular Imaging, where he was Director of Cyclotron R&D and oversaw Sustaining Engineering, Research, Development and Applications training for the Eclipse/Explora product lines. Prior to that Bill worked at Varian Microwave Tube division in the Electron Gun Design group. He holds 4 patents in the field of isotope targetry and accelerator shielding. Bill received his B.A. in Physics from the University of California at Berkley and his M.S. and PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
